The Children of His Choice

Psalm 80:17 “Strengthen the man you love, the son of your choice.”

When I read this scripture, my heart melted. One of the most wonderful things about having the LORD as a Father is that He chose me and you! He chose to engraft us into His family, He chose to adopt us as His children, and He chose to bless us as His heirs.

See Ephesians 1:3-8

How gracious of God to sacrifice His One and only Son so that He may have more sons and daughters by the blood of Jesus (Ephesians 2:18-19). There really is no one like the LORD.

Lord,

I thank You for being the best dad ever! You are so thoughtful and kind. I thank You for redeeming us with Christ’s blood. I pray that those who have not received You by receiving Your Son would open their eyes and hearts to Your love. You have the greatest love because You choose to give it (Romans 5:8 & 1 John 4:9). You choose to remember our sins no more (Hebrews 8:12), You choose to bless us with the same blessing Abraham received by faith (Galatians 3:7-9). You choose to protect us and provide for us. You choose to share Your glorious presence. For anyone running from You, I pray they have a heart of repentance (Ezekiel 18:23). I pray they turn from darkness and turn towards Your light. I pray they choose freedom and life in You (John 10:10). And I pray they trust You because You are faithful and sweet (Isaiah 30:18). May we all surrender to your unfailing love.
