A Preacher is a Prophet
One day, while listening to Myles Monroe, he opened my eyes to something I had never considered: a preacher is a prophet. A preacher studies the word of God, hears from God, is in right standing with God, and then shares what God told him to share with others. Is this not a prophet too? See 2 Peter 1:21.
What did Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Elijah do? They had a right relationship with God, heard from God, and shared what God told them to share.
Many times God is speaking to us but because it’s not what we want to hear, we don’t think the Lord is speaking (Revelation 1:3). If you are in a house that stands on the word of God, operates in purity and holiness, and is full of the Spirit of God, you should be able to take what your Pastor preaches and know that it is from God, it is for you, and you can apply it to your life.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 “ All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”
Real preachers are sent from God to shepherd His people with His word.
Jeremiah 3:15 “ Then I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will lead you with knowledge and understanding.”
It doesn’t get more prophetic than that!
